You’ll be able to get up close, meet some of the remarkable personalities in our herd. Discover some of the unique skills and behaviour that make them the amazing creatures they are. Understand firsthand some of their super-mammal powers. Then watch them in their natural environment, playing, bathing, rolling in mud and generally putting on a show at the waterhole!
You will also learn about the many challenges that elephants face in the wild and how you can help. eleCREW has a mission to improve human elephant co-existence and it does this through its CREW programs. The Community program helps local people who live side by side with elephants do so in a harmonious way. Our unique situation allows world class scientific Research collaborations. The Education program has benefitted over 1000 local school children so far. Underlying everything is our pioneering approach to elephant Welfare. We are independently audited to ensure our elephants leads their best lives possible.
Have you ever wondered how an elephant sees, hears, smells and feels the world? Or what emotions and intellect we share with these big brained, social mammals? This is a one-off adventure into the mind, body and soul of an elephant.
An educational elephant encounter
Our awareness activity and education program starts with an engaging and informative immersive talk. Following the talk, prepare to be awestruck as you have the chance to meet an individual elephant up close.
Embark on a unique 20-minute elephant walk after the interaction with the Ambassador herd, accompanied by experienced handlers, and you will have the opportunity to observe the elephants in a more natural setting. Children under 10 may not join the walk but proceed with the guide to the viewing platform.
After your walk, unwind on our viewing deck with refreshing beverages. As you watch the herd at play, socialising, or splashing about in the water, our knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer your questions and share fascinating facts about elephant behaviour and eleCREW’s conservation efforts.
This unforgettable encounter will create a lasting memory and foster a sense of connection with these majestic creatures.
Morning activity – Refreshments at the waterhole include teas, coffees, soft drinks, water and a muffin.
Afternoon Activity – Refreshments at the waterhole include alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, water and bar snacks.

eleCREW is a registered non-profit organization with a vision of an Africa in which humans and elephants coexist in a balanced environment. Your visitor fee goes toward supporting our charitable activities.
We have onsite guides who are fully trained in advanced first aid and will give a full safety briefing before meeting the elephants. The reception area has a first aid kit and fire extinguishers. There are 2-way communication radios and mobile phones on board if there is a need for further assistance and for easy communication with the office.

This was an incredible experience. After researching to ensure the highest animal welfare safeguards were in place, I booked this activity. I was not disappointed. After an interesting talk, explaining how the animals came into their care and the how the organization runs, we were taken out to meet these majestic animals, feed them and even walk along side them. How awesome is that! It was just amazing. The herd is obviously well treated and are not in capitivty. In fact one elephant chose to join a passing herd and has been accepted by them. I was heartened to hear how they still monitored this elephant to ensure it's well being. This ethical charity does fantastic work and provided my family with a memory of a lifetime. - Gillian
